Max's Birthday

It started off as a long day, Max had a bit of a harsh start, waking up to being nearly late for school and walking in a bit unkempt due to his rush. Let alone the fact he had a test today from his worse teacher, this special day of his started off on the wrong foot, being that well today was his birthday. His family was too busy as well but gave him knowingly side-glances while his friends well some of his random school buddies didn’t remember. The day felt long and arduous as he sat at the lunch table head held low till he saw someone who might remember. It was Julian in the distance walking by and with him was Dominik, Damian, and... Ken? He coulda swore those two were a bit at odds with one another but he was quite surprised to see him together with the guy chatting without glaring at him. Julian seemed to look around the room before he spotted Max. He broke from the group who nodded as Julian left some parting words and ran towards Max’s table. Max could feel a smile grow on his face as his boyfriend approaches him. Closer and closer till he sat next to him and gave him a quick kiss. “Happy birthday, special boy”. Julian says with a knowing wink and a hushed whisper into his ear. “We’re gonna do something special today after class” Julian follows up to say wrapping his arm around his boy’s waist just under the table. It brings them closer as their hips touch in a tender manner that makes Max’s shyness act up just a bit. “W-what are we going to do?” Max asks, able to muster up a bit of courage to ask him and look him in the eyes. “Well we’re going out shopping?” Julian says with a wink meet me at the front of school once the class is over he says before getting up and leaving, patting Max on the shoulder to give him a bit of reassurance. Max smiled as he began to think ‘hey...maybe this day won’t suck after all’.

The bells sung their final song as the release from the class came soon, and Max himself was quite excited, walking down the stairs of the school he glanced left, then he glanced right and to his surprise, he didn’t see Julian anywhere. A bit of panic settled and rose more and more within him as he began to worry he got dupped, but surprisingly enough Julian tapped his back from behind him. “Woah, dude i didnt know you were this excited to already go i woulda gave you a timeframe” Julian says as he wraps his arms around Max’s neck. Max’s worries calm down as he chuckles at what julian said,but begins to see more familiar faces meeting Dominik and Damian. “Oh its Dominik and Damian, we should invite them too” Max almost announces raising his arm to begin to call to them but Julian begins to shut him down quickly. “H-he uh well they’re, they’re gonna be busy today doing something...yeah something” Julian says almost stuttering through that statement. Max was a bit confused and befuddled but he couldnt ask them now is that both of them just got away from him now. Shrugging his shoulders he lets Julian lead him toward their little shopping outting.

To the shopping mall they tend to hang out in and there Julian turns to Max. “so… how about we start off with some clothes for the birthday boy.” Julian says with a winking smile.  “Hmm but i dont have any money on me..” Max says with a bit of a frown, “well its your birthday so i will buy it for you...duuuh” Julian says as he ruffles Max’s hair a bit and begins to lead him into the clothing store. Julian picks out a few outfits and tosses them to Max to try on. One with a more open vest and jeans making him look a bit out of place for his shy personality cause the shirt that he wore underneath the vest was quite aggressive. The next outfit that came was closer to the spectrum Damian lied on, so much black on the hoodie and black tattered jeans with a few chain bits hanging off of it. The jeans and hoodie having fake tatters to them also felt a bit out of place. “Hehe, this would be something we should totally get for Damian’s birthday” Julian jokes before motioning for Max to go back into the changing room. Actually going inside with him he watched as Max strips himself down before him and Julian’s heart flutters a bit. ‘How long has it been since i met this shy guy’ Julian thinks to himself as he wraps his arms around Max’s waist and brings him into a hug and tucking his head on Max’s shoulder, “hehe you feeling alright?” Max says unused to this gesture. “No just...felt like hugging you is all dude, you look good” Julian follows up. “Hehe, but im not wearing any of the change of clothes now” Max also carries on looking away with a bit of blush. “I know but you still look good, just had to say that” Julian announces sounding a bit sincere, he breaks the hug to hand Max another pair of clothing for him to put on. A more casual style of a blue shirt and black jean pants followed atop with a nice hoodie that all made Max had a comfy air in both look and feel. “What do you think?” Max asks as he turns to Julian instead of the mirror, Julian gives him a light kiss on the cheek and pats him on the side “i think its a great fit for you” Julian announces before they leave and paid.

The next thing on the list was going into the electronic store within the mall, waltzing their way around Julian finds some electronic accessories. “So i remember the other day that you needed headphones?” Julian asks taking a moment to check his phone for notifications, didn’t seem to be anything on there so he put it away. Max turns to Julian with a bit of a shrug, “i mean i guess but i could save up for one, you already got me a gift..” Max says holding up his bag of clothes, “nonsense i want to spoil you on your special day, just humor me on this one.” Julian holds max by his shoulders with a smile before grabbing his arm and leading him towards an assortment of headphones, which are pretty nice, but some could be a bit pricey. “Hmm alright how about this one, he shows makes a good pair of ear covering headphones, Bluetooth, and noise-canceling, they were at a fair price but still a wincing 80 dollars. “A-are you sure?” Max was a bit nervous about getting those but Julian flashed him the smile that told Max he wouldn’t take no for an answer. Max sighed and hunched his shoulders forward and nodded as if giving permission to Julian to continue and just like that he bought it for max adding it to the bags of goodies he now held, he liked the headphones but worried that max was going a bit overboard. Julian however had a wide smile on his face and grinned from ear to ear before checking his phone again. They took a moment to stop by the food court for a light snack and the two chatted and talked while they ate, the conversation going to how Max’s day been so far and Max couldn’t argue so far it was pretty nice. He wished his other friends could have wished him their birthday blessings but Julian would only just smile at the comment. He took a moment to check his phone one more time as a text chime jingled between the two. “Ahh yes” Julian seemed excited and as he put his phone away he slides his hand atop Max’s. “Now to show you something really special”.

It didnt take long for them to head back to Julian’s home, Max had his headphones on and his eyes covered, being lead on into the home. “So was this why you bought me the headphones?” Max asks his voice loud cause he couldnt tell otherwise. Julian didn’t answer but simply took of the headphones, “alright ready in 3…...2…….1…” Julian lets his hands off of Max’s eyes, party poppers goes off as he witnesses the party for him. Up above were streamers and on the wall a banner with his name. A nearby table with cake, punch, and other treats. An around him were his friends, Dominik, Damian, Ken on one side of the room. Jason, Johanness, as well as Lukas, Simon, Martin, and Nathan.  All there clapping to celebrate his birthday, maybe this day was better than he could ever imagine, as a smile grows on his face.  “Hehe Julian set up this surprise party, wanted us to get together to show you how much we appreciate being your friend,” Damian says as he holds a slice of cake with a candle in it. He gestures in a manner for Max to take it with a smile, and Max holds onto it. Everyone smiles and nods before Dominik shouts out from the back, “BLOW IT OUT AND MAKE A WISH!!” as he chuckles a bit more. Max smiles as he blows out the candle and everyone cheers before getting their own slices of cake, and treats or mingling with one another. Some people rushing up to give Max himself a hug and light “happy birthday” as they clinking their cake plates together gently as laughter and fun begins to ensue. It wasn’t long till Julian and Max find a spot in the backyard, the winter chilly weather making them sit close together under the sunsetting sky. Max was slowly pecking at his cake with slow bites and enjoying himself in his own way, this was very different, this was very nice. Taking some time to remember his terrible times at school and his time without friends all vanished with this party showing how many people he was close to and how many he touched. He smiled before Julian leans up and gives him a kiss on the cheek before laying on his shoulder, “happy birthday dude” Julian says with a smile as he continues to lean against his boyfriend.
